No plans for going out this new year's eve: Great ideas for staying home

There will be hundreds of thousands of people attending parties, going to clubs, inviting friends over and other fun things this new year's eve, but not everyone will be going out. This year's celebration falls on a Tuesday night. This is just another night in the work week for many people. Others will have the first day of the year off from work, but have other obligations that aren't conducive to staying out late or drinking champagne.

With the cost of babysitters, taxi rides, champagne and other fees, it just makes sense to stay home. The video has excellent ideas for a night at home for couples or the entire family. It offers everything from renting arcade games to special movies and a meal comprised of special treats normally too expensive to eat every week of the year.

Check with the local fire department to learn if they will hold a fireworks display close by. Maybe someone in the neighborhood is planning a fireworks display that everyone is invited to attend.

The old tradition says that whatever a person does on new year's eve, he will be doing that throughout the new year. So, don't feel down or sorry for yourself, instead, do something fun, share some laughs. Set the tone for the new year by enjoying what is already there.
