No pants Sunday ride: Train riders wear no pants on the subway

The no pants Sunday ride took New York by storm this weekend, as regular train users were forced to sit next to men and women who were pant-less on the subway.

Thanks to Improv Everywhere/We Cause Scenes, a popular comedy troupe, the no pants Sunday train ride not only became popular in New York, but spread across countless cities—from Boston to Hong Kong.

Unlike other events which strip off clothing in public, Improv Everywhere says that their goal isn’t to offend or repulse you.

It’s to make you smile and laugh.

This past weekend was actually the 12th Annual No Pants Sunday Ride. Usually when done in January, part of the joke is not just that the man or woman next to you on the train has no pants, but that they’re wearing no pants in frigid weather.

But in places like New York and Boston, the weather was quite nice considering it’s the winter, reaching anywhere from 40 to 50 degrees.

The Impov Everywhere’s No Pants Sunday Ride has garnered over 15 million hits on YouTube.
