Everyday while riding the trains in New York City, people show off their fashion sense or lack thereof. But on one day in particular for the past thirteen years, the best and most shocking pants have been no pants at all. This year on Sunday January 12, 2014 will be the annual No Pants Subway Ride in New York City.
So far, over one thousand people have said they will go on the No Pants Subway Ride Facebook page. The No Pants Subway Ride is held every year by Improv Everywhere every January. Starting thirteen years ago with only a prank done by seven guys, it has grown into an international event with dozens of cities participating. Random passengers board a subway at separate stops in the middle of winter without pants. They do not behave as if they know each other, and they all wear winter coats, hats, scarves, and gloves. The only unusual thing is their lack of pants.
If people are daring to be seen without pants and willing to face whatever frigid temperatures there may be, go for it. There is also an afterparty on the event's Facebook page also.
