You've all seen "The Hangover", a movie about three groomsmen who go overboard at their friend's bachelor party and wake up with no memory of what has taken place. The groom is nowhere to be found, and the groomsmen go on an epic mission to find him before the wedding. Or, you may have experienced a wedding day hangover of your own. Let's face it, bachelor/bachelorette parties have been known for outlandish shenanigans and shakeups, leaving wedding parties less than picture perfect on the big day.
Maybe watching films like "The Hangover", "Bridesmaids", and "The Best Man Holiday" have taught people to have their last night of single-dom well in advance of the wedding day in order to recover. Most people have started planning bachelor/bachelorette trips and parties a week or two in advance of the wedding weekend. For those of you who still insist on having your shindigs the night before, there may be help for you.
A new business is set to open in the Dilworth community that promises to have a remedy for your last hoorah! The first of its kind in Charlotte, Hydrate Medical is a boutique clinic that will treat patients who do not have the time for slow recovery from viral illness, jet lag or overindulgence/hangover. They will also assist athletes preparing for an upcoming competition or recovery from athletic exhaustion.
The owners, Jonathan A. Leake, M.D.; Keith Parris, ACNP-BC and Drew Harrill, MPAS, PA-C are emergency medical providers with a combined 30 years of emergency medicine experience and more than 10 years of endurance sports experience in road races, cycling, crossfit, and 6 Ironman finishes. They use an approach that involves administering antioxidants, vitamins and minerals into the body to provide the quickest and most effective relief.
Hydrate Medical will host an open house on Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 6-9 pm. During the open house, attendees can indulge in light hors d’oeuvres, beer and wine while touring the facility located at 228 East Blvd, Suite 200, in Charlotte. There will also be giveaways and opportunities to secure treatments as the doors officially open on August 15, 2014.
Guests will also meet the owners and learn more about their process and services, including opening weekend and Labor Day specials.
We feel that providing this service directly to the community in a beautiful spa-like setting will help clients avoid the cost and pain of emergency department visits. Charlotte is a bustling city of professionals that have little time for illness and recovery. We want to help them get their day back re-energized.-Leake
