At the end of February, it did not look like free agent wide receiver Ramses Barden would return to the New York Giants.
Now, it appears that there is still a chance that Barden could return to the Giants. He even admitted that it would be best if the two sides parted ways, in a story posted at the end of February.
In the first week of free agency, he has drawn little interest from other teams. On March 3rd, the Carolina Panthers showed some interest in him.
New Panthers general manager Dave Gettleman was reportedly kicking the wheels on Barden, being that Gettleman was previously with the Giants front office. Barden had a career day in Week 3 against the Panters, in which he had nine receptions for a 138 yards.
On the season, he had 14 receptions for 220 yards. If you eliminate the Panthers game, he had 5 receptions for 82 yards.
Prior to the 220 yards in 2012, his career best was 94 yards in a season in 2011. From 2009 through the 2011 season, he had just 174 receiving yards.
He has never scored a touchdown in his career. And he only had one 100 yard receiving yardage game, which was against the Panthers.
If Barden returns to the Giants, it would likely be on a one-year deal, where he would have to prove his self. He would likely be the 4th or 5th receive with the Giants should he sign a new contract with the team.
