It looks like the temps here in the Mid Atlantic will stay at, or below, average all the way through the middle of June....and perhaps through the end of the month. We have moved into a slightly blocked pattern, jet stream-wise. A series of storms will drop in from the Northwest over the next 10 to 14 days, that should usher in mild shots of air to MD, VA and PA. The average High Temps are now in the low 80s, and I do not see any long stretches of oppressive heat on the horizon. In addition...there should be several periods of rain or storm activity, between now and the end of the month, to help get the summer crops going in the right direction. The ground water table is already fairly high with the passage of Andrea up the East Coast, as well. So, if you’re a fan of big dry summer heat, you might have to wait a few weeks!
