Caroline Manzo has confirmed that she will not return to “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” for sixth season. Bravo has signed Manzo and her family to do a spin-off, “Manzo’d with Children” and the original “RHONJ” will not pull double duty.
Wetpaint broke the news on Oct. 15, stating that the loss of Caroline Manzo gives the show an opportunity to “shake things up a bit.” The drama surrounding Teresa Giudice, her sister-in-law Melissa Gorga and her cousin Kathy Wakile has grown old. Viewership was down considerably for fifth season of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” than previous seasons.
Reportedly fans have grown weary of the Giuidcie-Gorga-Wakile feud and want Bravo to bring in new woman so that the show can move forward and not rehash the same drama year in and year out. Two seasons ago Bravo shook up the cast of “The Real Housewives of New York” by dropping original cast members Jill Zarin and Alex McCord as well as Kelly Bensimon who joined “RHONY” during season two, and Cindy Barshop who was only a “RHONY” for a blink of an eye.
Many say that brining in new women, especially women who are not related to any of the current cast members, would breathe new life into the show. Due to Teresa Giudice’s numerous legal troubles, Bravo is uncertain at this time if she will even be available to return for a sixth season. There are reports that Dina Manzo wants to return to "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" but only if Bravo drops sister-in-law Jacqueline Laurita.
