The Indoor Football League - IFL and the new regime in the front office are already hard at work to improve the IFL and bring more teams into the mix in 2015. However, on Monday January 6, 2014 there was a report that came out of the Billings Gazette. It reported that there was going to be a team in Billings, Montana and that the new team would be called the Billings Wolves.
Today, the IFL director of business development Mike McCoy stated to me in an exclusive interview, that the report was not "on the record" by Mike McCoy or the commissioner Mike Allshouse of the IFL, and the paper has been notified that the report was inaccurate. Although Mike McCoy was in Billings, there were no deals made, and there have been no reports via the IFL or goifl.com that a team would be in Billings. In fact is there is no time table for the approval from the executive committee of the IFL.
There is no question that it is Mike McCoy’s job to do exactly what was reported, but just because he was in Billings that does not mean automatically there would be a team introduced into the IFL. Mr. McCoy said a team has not even been introduced to the Executive Committee of the IFL, and there is nothing set in stone about Billings joining the IFL in the spring of 2015 as reported by the Billings Gazette.
