The weather is finally warm in Minnesota, and that means time for picnics with family. I recently took a trip to the Como Zoo with my family and we met the cousins. After walking through the zoo, we all went for a picnic lunch. I wanted to make sure to bring a tasty dessert, but I also wanted something easy to make. You can't get much easier than these three ingredient no-bake bars.
Almost everyone should have the ingredients for these easy bars: peanut butter, oats and honey. I decided to add a little chocolate on top because you can never go wrong with peanut butter and chocolate in my book. The oats give these bars a crunchy texture, and they are definitely full of peanut butter flavor!
No-Bake Peanut Butter Oat Bars (recipe adapted from Cookies and Cups)
1 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup agave or honey
3 cups rolled oats
1 cup chocolate chips
1. Line a 9x9 pan with foil. Spray lightly with non-stick spray.
2. Melt the peanut butter and honey together until smooth, either in the microwave or stove top. Combine mixture with oats.
3. Press into prepared pan.
4. Melt chocolate chips in the microwave. Heat for 10 seconds at a time and stir in between to make sure the chocolate does not burn.
Place in refrigerator until set. Cut into squares.
