The Howard Stern Show did not air a compilation of Howard Stern's favorite Artie Lange moments during their MLK Day broadcast.
Shortly after the announcement of Howard Stern Show co-host Artie Lange's hospitalization over the holiday break, Howard Stern announced he was considering creating an Artie Lange "Best of" special to remind the troubled comedian's critics of Lange's brilliant on-air history. "Don't forget how great he is," said Howard Stern of Artie Lange while rumors were still swirling about the details behind his mysterious hospitalization. It was ultimately leaked to the New York Post that Artie Lange's hospitalization was a result of a violent suicide attempt.

Sirius XM big cheese Mel Karmazin suggested Martin Luther King Day as an air date for the special since the Howard Stern Show would be on vacation, but Howard Stern stated that he felt overwhelmed by the task of putting the special together. Instead of an Artie Lange marathon, Howard Stern Show listeners were treated to a "Dr. Stern: Celebrity Shrink" special featuring revealing interviews from years past with celebrities like Lisa Kudrow and Donny Osmond. Howard Stern stated during a recent Howard Stern Show broadcast that thinking about Artie Lange's suicide attempt is causing him to lose sleep.

Artie Lange's whereabouts are not currently being made public, but most fans are hoping that he's receiving mental health and substance abuse rehabilitation services. Howard Stern stated during last week's show that he has tried to get in touch with Artie Lange, but was told by Lange's family that the comedian is not reachable at this time.

They probably didn't want to do a slapdash job on a retrospective.
