The No. 99 RAB Racing Toyota team (driver James Buescher) in the NASCAR Nationwide Series has been penalized for a car weight issue during Saturday's Drive to End Diabetes 300 at Bristol (Ten.) Motor Speedway, according to an announcement from NASCAR on Tuesday.

According to the announcement, the No. 99 car was in violation of sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing and 20A-2.3A (added car weight, improperly attached weight, loss of weight during event) of the 2014 NASCAR rule book. The violation is classified a P3-level penalty by NASCAR's new rating system; therefore, crew chief Chris Rice was fined $10,000 and placed on NASCAR probation until the end of the year. Car chief John Guerra was also placed on probation until Dec. 31.

Buescher finished 13th in the No. 99 car at Bristol.
