No. 1 LSU gymnasts down No. 24 Kentucky 197.800-195.000 on senior night

The LSU gymnastics team scored another win and high score Friday night (Mar. 14) in the Pete Maravich Center as they dominated Kentucky in the final home meet for the seniors according to LSU Sports.

The Tigers, ranked No. 1 for the last couple of weeks, took down No. 24 Kentucky with a 197.800-195.000 score before a home town crowd of 5,414 fans.

Seniors Kaleigh Dickson, Casey Duvall, Lainie Fleming, Mckenzie Fox, Maliah Mathis and Sarie Morrison were honored before the meet began, along with their manager Robby Abboud.

The meet got off to a solid start on the vault tor the Tigers with a team score of 49.450. The Tigers were focused and put up consistent scores on all four rotations. The Tigers turned in a score of 49.475 on bars, a season-high of 49.450 on beam and a 49.425 on floor.

Kentucky's rotations include a 49.025 on vault, 48.950 on bars, 47.775 on beam and 49.250 on floor.

The all-around was won by Rheagan Courville, a junior, with a total score of 39.625. Jessie Jordan came in second with a score of 39.525, followed by Kaleigh Dickson, who took third place with a score of 39.500.

The Tigers will compete next week in the SEC Championships, held in Birmingham, Al. on March 22, 2014. As of now, the Tigers will be in the second group of competitors along with Alabama, Florida, and Georgia.
