A collective gasp could be heard from fans young and old around the
world when Jordan Knight, Donnie Wahlberg,
Danny Wood, Jonathan Knight and Joey McIntrye of the famed boy band
NKOTB revealed on The View Tuesday (Jan 22nd) they would once again
be touring. Also, fans can expect a new album in April and that the
first single Remix (I Like The) off the new album can be heard as
early as next week. Adding to the excitement of the day, the band
revealed who would be accompany them out on "The Package" Tour, two of
the 90's other biggest chart topping boy bands, Grammy Award-winning Boyz II Men, the best-selling R&B group of all time (who
currently is performing in Las Vegas, will take time off to tour )
and 98 Degrees (this is the bands first tour in over ten years after
recently reuniting).
NKOTB found world wide success in the late 80's early 90's with the
mega chart topping hits "The Right Stuff", "Hangin Tough", and "Step
By Step". The band would take a hiatus that lasted almost 15 yrs.
before reuniting in 2008 to the delight of their fans, many who were
in attendance with their own children keeping the "The New kids"
legacy alive. The response of their return has been met with
overwhelming success with sold out concerts and cruises, and record
sales through the roof.
After the announcement social media was all a buzz with news of the
three super groups immanent return. It’s not often that you get to
have this much amazing talent on one stage. There's no need to worry
about ego's on this tour, each band has said they've been checked at
the the door. The tour kicks off May 31st in Uncasville, CT. Unless
you were lucky enough to be in attendance at The View on Tuesday and
receive free tickets (all in attendance were given a free pair of
tickets) be sure to get your tickets before they are all gone. The
bands are encouraging fans to get there early so that you don't miss a
minute of the show that will no doubt be memorable.
