NJ Senate to vote on ObamaCare implementation Monday

The New Jersey Senate has scheduled a vote on the creation of a State council to implement the massive healthcare-reform law (HR 3590), this although one federal judge has already declared a key part of it unconstitutional, and another judge might do the same.

The Senate has scheduled a vote on S2239, a bill to set up an NJ Health Care Reform Implementation Council, now in its second reprint. The primary sponsor is Senator Loretta Weinberg (D-37-Bergen). The five-page bill does little beyond establish the council itself, which the bill now envisions will have 29 members, including 25 "public members" serving staggered terms of five years.

The Morris Patriots organization, and Americans for Prosperity New Jersey, both released statements in opposition to this bill. Both organizations provided links to help interested readers find the offices of their Senators and call them to encourage them to vote against it. Among other things, Morris Patriots objects to the multiple organizations that will have the specific privilege of nominating members of the Council. Among them: the Service Employees International Union.

Morris Patriots did not specifically mention the ruling by US District Judge Henry E. Hudson in Cuccinelli v. Sibelius that declared the "minimal coverage mandate" unconstitutional, but did mention the 20-State lawsuit (Florida ex rel. McCollum et al. v. HHS) now pending in Pensacola, Florida, where Judge Roger Vinson already has a summary-judgment motion before him referring to the Cucinneli case. Governor Chris Christie has refused to join that or any other lawsuit against the healthcare-reform bill, although two Jersey Shore Tea Party members are litigating pro se against the measure before Judge Freda Wolfson of the US District Court for New Jersey.

The first new rule says you HAVE to have insurance. Both my husband and I have pre-existing conditions, and although the new bill says we can't be denied coverage because of it. So far, the cheapest health insurance we've been able to find is called "Wise Health Insurance" search for it online if you are pre-existing conditions.

Thank you Mary Rush for information on "Wise Health Insurance", but I see it's only for Military and children. Thank Terry for the article. I had gotten behind in my writing and reading, but I'm getting a handle on things. Have a very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year Terry.
