The 2014 NIT Tournament live stream and TV schedule has been released and before you sell the NIT tourney short, just look at some of the competition first. While fans are gearing up for the NCAA March Madness Tournament, the NIT will kick off tomorrow its live stream basketball schedule Wednesday with a full slate of games including the No. 1 overall seed SMU.

According to an ESPN report on March 17, many experts were shocked that SMU was snubbed from a NCAA Tournament bid, including their legendary coach Larry Brown. Brown addressed the fans when the announcement was made that the Mustangs wouldn't be in the big dance.

"I feel bad for our team and you fans," Brown said. "I feel like we let you all down.".

"When things don't go exactly how you planned, you can either pack it in or you can find a way to do better," Brown said. "We need to use this as a way to get better."

NCAA or not, look for SMU to muscle their way through the NIT with a chip on their shoulder. The Mustangs will open up Round 1 on Wednesday, March 19 vs. California-Irvine at 9:00 p.m. EST.

Las Vegas odds makers have the Mustangs the favorite to win the NIT championship. SMU is followed by St. John's at 6/1 and Florida State at 7/1. The least favored team on the Vegas odds board is Robert Morris who is listed at 250-1.
