Nissan GT-R street races motorcycle

A Nissan GT-R is a very potent street racing vehicle. Starting out with a standard 3.8 liter V6 blown by twin turbo's is a great platform for huge power gains. Adding performance to an OEM turbo engine yields much more gains and boost capability than trying to modify a naturally aspirated engine for forced induction. The pistons, rods, cylinder walls, head gaskets, valves, and more on NA engines simply can't take the huge amounts of boost that a stock forced induction vehicles can withstand. Welcome to the world of tuning, where boost rules the roost.

The following Nissan GT-R is a very fast vehicle. It's so fast that it can win a race against a Kawasaki ZX-14 if the bike doesn't launch correctly. Kawasaki has a great heritage in the Ninja line up of winning races, high performance, and emulating the moto bikes in a street legal format. A much larger motorcycle than most, the ZX-14 features a 1352 cc engine! A monster four stroke, this liquid cooled motor is a four valve per cylinder, inline four banger. Extreme amounts of power can be achieved by aftermarket modifications, but even in stock form this rocket features 154 foot pounds of torque and 197 ponies when ram air is in effect. In a package that only weighs 566.7 pounds, that's a great power to weight ratio of .34 hp per pound and .27 tq!

The Nissan GT-R in stock form can't win a race against this moto-legend. However, with the P800 Switzer performance kit, it can put up a good fight. A couple of pulls decides the winner, and it's clearly the Kawasaki. However, by how much is what intrigues me. I'm truly amazed that this all-wheel drive vehicle that weighs 3,806 pounds can keep up with the light weight motorcycle.
