In an announcement last week anime and video game publisher NIS America revealed that they have acquired the anime series “Hanasaku Iroha ~ Blossoms for Tomorrow~” for release in North America this April.
“Hanasaku Iroha ~ Blossoms for Tomorrow~” is produced by the animation studio P.A. Works (Angel Beats!) and it is directed by Masahiro Ando (CANAAN). The 26 episode series features series composition by Mari Okada (Toradora!) and character designs by Mel Kishida.
The anime follows the adventures of a young girl named Ohana, who is sent to live with her grandmother after her mother runs off with her debt-dodging boyfriend. Ohana is used to life in Tokyo and struggles to adapt to life with her grandmother, the owner of a rural hot spring inn called Kissuiso, as she shifts from being an ordinary high school student to a hot spring inn attendant.
Anime fans can look for volume one (the first 13 episodes) of “Hanasaku Iroha ~ Blossoms for Tomorrow~” to be available in a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack beginning on Apr. 9, 2013 with an SRP of $69.99. NIS America will offer the series in their usual premium edition packaging, which will include a hardcover art book and collectable slipcase.
NIS America also announced that their PlayStation 2 classic “Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories” would be getting new life through a PlayStation Network release on Jan. 22, 2013. The title will be available digitally through the PlayStation Store for $9.99.
