On this date in 1990, Nirvana continued their UK tour, with a show in the Students' Union at Leeds Polytechnic in Leeds, United Kingdom at 8:00 pm. Dave Grohl had only played his first show with the band on the 11th of October, so he was still very new to the performing style of Kurt and Krist. Tickets cost 4 pounds in advance and 5 at the door. The opening bands for the gig were Arm, L7, and Victims Family.
The set list for that night included "Blew," "Been A Son," "Negative Creep," "Stain," "Lithium," "Spank Thru," "Breed," "Floyd The Barber," "Big Cheese," "About A Girl," "In Bloom," "Scoff," "Molly's Lips," "Love Buzz," "D-7," "Dive," "Sliver," and "School." During the bridge of "School," Kurt improvised the lyrics.
There were many mistakes during the show due to the enormous amount of stage divers all leaping down, which definitely upset Kurt. "By then, all the shows became a blur," says sound man Craig Montgomery. "The band is really consistent at this time. We're headlining pretty big rooms, we have plenty of gear, we're not worried if we're gonna have enough guitars to finish the shows. And there was hijinks with L7. But that said, they're not as destructive as people think. It would only be every once in a great while [that things got trashed]. It was pretty professional by this point. We had Alex MacLeod tour managing. We had a good crew. We pretty much had it all together."
