Nintendo has really disappointed me in the past ten years. As a gamer, I was first introduced to video games in 1988. I woke up Christmas morning to find a Nintendo under the tree with its huge boxy controllers, and the Mario Bros. game. I can still hear that theme song in my head! Through the years, I grew up with a Nintendo. The first Nintendo, the Super Nintendo, the Nintendo 64, and by the time the Game Cube came out I was starting to get bored with it. When they introduced the Wii, I was really disappointed with how everything looked. It doesn't seem like Nintendo even cares that they aren't even in the running for gameplay on graphics or playability!
I understand that there is a market for the Wii, but for hardcore gamers out there, the Wii is not for us. We are used to BluRay and High Def gaming systems, and oh yeah, not sweating while we play a game!
The Nintendo Wii is great for small children. I would recommend it for those people who don't know what to get their child for christmas this year. When it is a snowy day, and they can't go outside, the Wii will help them blow off some steam and pent up energy that children have.
I don't know, maybe Nintendo never was a great gaming franchise. But it really breaks my heart to see that they aren't even trying! This is from a company that started first person shooters too! (Remember Goldeneye?) Oh, I stayed up a lot of nights playing that game! However, it saddens me that they have not met the challenge and at least tried to get their console up to par with the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Pretty soon, the Wii will be totally outdated when the Playstation 4 and the Xbox 720 is released. What will they plan to do? Release another box with the same old stuff and sell it for an arm and a leg? I think that if they are going to charge as much as the other franchises, then they should at least set some kind of bar or standard that makes them come out with the same data or gigabyte as the others do. As for me, I'm sick of hearing about Nintendo, and I wish they would shut up and go home.
