Earlier today we told you about the newly announced Nintendo 2DS handheld – full story here. Aside from announcing a new, low priced 3DS today, Nintendo also announced on Aug. 28 that the Wii U will receive a $50 price drop on Sept. 20.
Nintendo will no longer offer the Basic Wii U model starting on Sept. 20. All Wii U’s will now be the Deluxe Model with the Nintendo Land pack-in. The Wii U will begin to retail for $299.99 on Sept. 20.
Furthermore, the company has announced plans to release a limited-edition The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD Wii U Bundle in North America at the affordable price of $299.99. The Wind Waker HD bundle will come with a black Wii U Deluxe console, a GamePad controller decorated with gold lettering, gold Hyrule crest, and gold symbols from Wind Waker.
This bundle will see release on Sept. 20 and come with a digital version of Wind Waker HD and a digital version of Hyrule Historia, a book that details the chronology, history and artwork of The Legend of Zelda series.
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker will be released on Sept. 20 via the eShop. A retail copy of Wind Waker HD will be released on Oct. 4 for $49.99, which will feature a beautiful gold-foil packing. GameStop will have an exclusive Ganondorf figurine bundled with the packaged game at a suggested retail price of $54.99.
