Last week, fans got to try out a workout with their dog and meet celebrity personal trainer Tracy Anderson.
The petite trainer to the stars including Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow, is working directly with Nintendo Wii Fit to introduce "Wii Fit Plus," a sequel to the regular Nintendo Wii game.
The update? Tracy Anderson herself and the lucky dog of your choice.
Pet owners can now workout with Fido, creating avatars of their dogs and cats and use the Wii board to weigh themselves and their pet.
The board will then keep track of the gamer's weight and their pets.
"It's so fun to have a motivator when you're working out," said Katie Cray, Nintendo entertainment and trend marketing manager. "Obviously, if you have a dog, you're probably out there walking your dog and playing with it, and that's exercise in and of itself, so it's nice to have the ability to track the progress of both your dog and yourself."
The game, which is now in launch mode, doesn't really train your pet (you still have to do that) but it does have new features like strength training exercises, new yoga activities and 15 balance games.
Nintendo kicked off the Wii buzz by inviting the media and celebs Rachael Leigh Cook, Nick Cannon and Brooke Burke (and their dogs!) to try out the game at the "Wii Fit Plus" Fitness Club - A trendy space that was transformed just for the event in Beverly Hills.
Tracy Anderson, inventor of the Tracy Anderson method, hosted the event and backs Wii Fitness Plus all the way.
"I will definitely prescribe it to people who are at a level where they lack a mind-body connection or they lack motivation or also people like Gwyneth Paltrow, who I train all the time," Anderson said. "Sometimes we're in trailers on movie sets, and we don't have a lot of room, but it doesn't take much room to set up `Wii Fit Plus' and customize a program."![]()
