In continued advertisement for the “Year of Luigi”, Nintendo has released a mockumentary about the younger of the Mario brothers. Titled “Finding Luigi – Legend of Parkour”, today's YouTube video follows a duo of would-be documentary directors as they search for Luigi.
The video portrays Luigi as an expert at parkour. It uses his jumping ability, which is canonically superior to Mario's, as an example of his skill. There are also several references to his Super Smash Bros. abilities, including his cyclone attack and “the green missle”. Aspects of New Super Luigi U are also mentioned, such as the absence of his brother Mario. The two playable Toads are featured, as well as Nabbit.
Overall, this may be one of the more interesting ways Nintendo has advertised the “Year of Luigi”. While promotions such as having Luigi ride the Chicago 'L' train feel very much like Nintendo, this short mockumentary gives off a completely different vibe. The video itself runs at a reasonable length, and the stunts featured within are all rather impressive. “Finding Luigi” can be found on Nintendo's YouTube page.
