There's been quite a few Nintendo 3DS consoles that have come out aimed at fans of franchises or fans of different colors. Nintendo is always quick to try and push their product towards a certain fan base, and with the announcement of this new 3DS XL handheld, it looks like they've got a money maker on their hands.
The Pikachu 3DS XL is finally coming to North America. The handheld is set to arrive at the end of March. It's yellow, like the Pokemon it's based on, and will come with a 4 GB SD memory card, and it's priced at $199.99.
There's another reason to pick up the handheld, not just because it's a special edition or comes with a memory card, but because you can get a free game with it.
Follow along here, there are two new 3DS games launching the same day as the Pikachu DS, "Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity" and "Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon." Players who pick up the Pikachu DS, and one of those games, AND register one of those two games by April 30 will get a free download code for one of five 3DS games.
The five games aren't too bad either: "Super Mario 3D Land", "Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask", "Star Fox 64 3D", "Freakyforms Deluxe: Your Creations Alive", and "Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone!"
Okay, so three out of five games being good isn't too bad.
The Pikachu Nintendo 3DS XL will hit retail shelves on March 24, 2013.
