This year Nintendo is ambushing the holiday season with new treats for girls and boys. They are giving parents a plethora of gifts choices to buy their little ones. They also sent out an Airstream loaded with their latest games and those yet to be released. I had the opportunity to go and check it out.
Nintendo recently released a more economical version of the 3DS known as the 2DS. While the 2DS lacks the 3D capabilities of the 3DS, it offers more flexibility it terms of strength and in my opinion, more portability. The 2DS is already out and can be picked for the meager price of $129.99. The 3DS XL and 3DS are priced at $199 and $169 respectively.
The game choices available this holiday season of the 2-3DS family is gargantuan. Games like Pokémon X and Y, and Zelda a Link between Worlds are sure to excite your little ones, but the fun doesn’t stop there. Companies like WB Games are releasing great third party titles like Batman: Arkham Origins to both the 2-3DS family but the Wii U as well.
Nintendo is also hitting the ground running with the Wii U, with a new hardware bundle that includes Zelda Wind Waker HD and many other goodies like Hyrule Historia, a very large knowledge base for all things Zelda, the Bundle comes in at $299.
Nintendo is also including a trial of Wii U Fitness on new Wii U’s. The interesting thing about it is if you buy their “Fit Meter” for $20, it will unlock the trial as the full game allowing you full access to the game and all of its capabilities.
Nintendo is really looking to take this holiday season by storm and it would not surprise in the least if they won. With all off the choices parents have this year Nintendo is sure looking to be the more economical choice.
