Nintendo adds Pokemon Greninja & Charizard to Super Smash Bros

Pokemon characters Charizard and Greninja will be part of Nintendo's Super Smash Bros., expected to launch for Nintendo 3DS this summer. Polygon reports that the Wii U edition of the game will not be out until winter 2014.

Both characters will join two other playable Pokemon, Pikachu and Lucario in Super Smash Bros., something many Pokemon fans are excited about.

Charizard is an old-school Pokemon, first introduced in Pokemon Blue and Pokemon Red, the first generation of the Pokemon game series. The fire-based character is the third evolution of Charmander. Pokemon Greninja, the final form of Froakie, was first introduced in Nintendo's Pokemon X and Pokemon Y. reports that Super Smash Bros. will have a new form of a Pokeball, the Masterball, with a rare Pokemon inside.

In addition to playable characters Charizard, Greninja, Pikachu and Lucario, Nintendo is including a long list of non-playable Pokemon to the game, including: Fennekin, Meloetta, Gogoat, Entei, Deoxys, Palkia, Kyurem, Victini, Keldeo, Xerneas, Meowth, Electrode, Evee, Staryu and Metagros.
