A nine-year-old stowaway is making news today after sneaking onto a plane in Minneapolis. On Oct. 7, Belge Info reported that the nine-year-old got through multiple check points and onto a Delta flight bound for Las Vegas. Evidently, the boy made it past three sets of checkpoints including the TSA screening, the "check in" at the gate, and then with the flight attendants once on the plane.
"At this point, this is a Delta and TSA issue. This is a rare incident," said St. Paul International Airport spokesperson, Pat Hogan. It is unclear how the boy managed to breeze through without a boarding pass, but if he just skated along with another adult or family, it could have been presumed that his "mom" or "dad" was carrying his boarding pass for him.
The nine-year-old stowaway landed in Vegas safe and sound but when he got off the plane, he was questioned. Airport surveillance footage shows the boy at the airport last Wednesday. He allegedly took a piece of luggage from baggage claim and entered a restaurant. He asked a member of the waitstaff to watch "his" bag while he used the restroom... only he never returned. In fact, it appears as though he left the airport altogether.
It wasn't until the next day that the boy returned to the airport and managed to get himself on a plane and to Vegas. It's unknown whether or not he had planned to go to Vegas or if he just got on a random departing plane.
The nine-year-old stowaway is still under investigation. More details should be available by the middle of the week.
