It's that time of the year ladies to dust off your favorite boots that have been hiding out in the back of your closet. For those ladies who don't already have an extensive boot wardrobe just dying to bust out, there are some great boot styles just waiting to be bought. And for the ladies that already have a closet full...well you can't go wrong with another pair or two! For this fall these are the top nine must have boots for any closet.
Knee high boots: Knee high boots have been making a comeback for several years now and they've even taken a casual feel so they can be worn either day or night. Look for boots that have a 70s influence to them and instead of black go for a deep brown or cognac. Both colors are neutral enough to go with everything. They look great when paired up with knee length dresses and longer coats. If you're looking for a totally different take on knee high boots try a pair of knee high penny loafers!
Combat/Moto boots: With military chic being a hot trend this fall why not invest in a pair of military inspired combat or moto boots? Not only can you get grungy yet edgy pair of boots in black with all the appropriate buckles but consider also getting a pair in a neutral color like beige or grey for a more upscale yet edgy look.
Ankle booties: The ankle bootie is ultra versatile and allows you to show off you legs in a pair of skinny jeans or with feminine pieces to balance out their softness like floral prints and lace. Also hot are 'shooties', a mixture of both an ankle bootie and a shoe. Look for 'shooties' that are oxford inspired with lace ups.
Over the knee boots: Not for the fashion faint hearted, over the knee boots are actually pretty hot this fall and look great when worn with a mini skirt or leggings.
Mid length boots: Hitting your leg somewhere between the knee and the ankle these in between boots are both classic and lady like at the same time. Worn with tights, they give you an allover conservative look. They also look great with a pair of boot cut jeans.
Flat equestrian boots: Not just for riding horses anymore, equestrian boots look best when you get a pair that is made with a straight cut that's not so fitted to give your tucked in jeans for room and make for a more casual look.
Slouchy boots: A popular 80s trend for this fall, slouchy boots work great with longer skirts and give any outfit a casual look without being sloppy and are versatile enough to be worn year round.
Wedge boots: Thanks to Isabel Marant and the rage over her wedge sneakers because now for fall we have wedge boots to look forward to. The wedge is perfect when worn with a flirty skirt or jeans and offer style and comfort that normal heeled boots don’t.
Printed boots: Whether your personal preference is leopard print, polka dots or lots of colors and flowers, printed boots are a great way to bring some fun and color to dreary fall days.
