Tahoe City boasts award winning dining, a variety of independent shops and year round beauty for families and outdoor enthusiasts plus lodging that allows guests to enjoy the best of Tahoe City on foot.

“Our signature events showcase natural treasures and the incredible experiences available in Tahoe City. There is something truly special - people often say magical - about spending one day, one week or lifetime in Tahoe City and we want our visitors to feel that magic,” explains Gary Davis, President of the Tahoe City Downtown Association (TCDA) Board of Directors. “I never get tired of looking at the Lake. It’s different all the time.”

From the Cobblestone Relay races to Wacky Winter Bowling to the Solstice Festival and summer concerts at Commons Beach, the TCDA offers engaging seasonal events for residents and visitors. This year’s line up includes a street fair on July fourth before the ski lights up with fireworks and the second annual Tahoe City Grill Fest.

Winter 2014 Events

The Cobblestone Relay is a fast paced, cross-country race that will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Tahoe City Winter Sports Park on Wednesday, Feb. 26. It is one of Tahoe City’s best spectator events in addition to being an incredibly fun competition for participants. Attendees from last year say it is an event that one would expect to see in a small European town. Register at www.alpenglowsports.com.

Wacky Winter Bowling, TCDA’s annual SnowFest tradition, offers sledding on saucers into blow-up “pins” beginning at 11 a.m. on Sunday, March 2. Children and adults will enjoy the fun event. Helmets provided. Each team gets three chances to knock down as many pins as possible. Prizes will be awarded to first place in a variety of categories. Wacky Winter Bowling is held in the Tahoe Winter Sports Park at the Tahoe City Golf Course. Register in person at 10 a.m. on March 2.

The upcoming events are really worth the trip, but more than that, every day in Tahoe City offers something worthwhile,” says Davis. For the most up to date information on events throughout the region, follow TCDA at Facebook.com/DowntownTahoeCity or go to VisitTahoeCity.com.
