As expected, some things are going to be different moving forward in "Nikita" season 3 after Nikita had to cut off Michael's hand to save his life, and that could be the reason for something in episode 9, "Survival Instincts," for which the CW released promotional photos on Thursday, Jan. 24.
In this "Nikita" episode, Ryan (Noah Bean) sends out the team to rescue Kate (Anna Hopkins) after her boyfriend, Ray (Matt Bushell), a rogue agent, kidnaps her. However, it's not going to be Nikita (Maggie Q) and Michael (Shane West) going out in the field together. Instead, Michael sends Owen (Devon Sawa) with her. Meanwhile, Sean (Dillon Casey) is going to make a decision about Alex (Lyndsy Fonseca).
The "Survival Instincts" photos, which you can see in the slideshow at the top of this article, offer a look at Nikita and Owen in the field (and this isn't going to be an easy mission). We imagine the reason Michael's not out there is because of his hand. As the "Aftermath" preview shows, it's not going to be so easy for him to bounce back from this and it's going to be putting a strain on his relationship with Nikita since this is something he doesn't want her help with.
