Near the end of the summer, the NFL announced that there would be an overhaul of the 2014 Pro Bowl with new rules and teams. Well, the NFL and Nike officially let it be known on Oct. 8, 2013, that there would be another major change and it would be brand new uniforms for both teams.
Gone are the days of red and white versus blue and white with each team wearing their own specific team helmets. Players will still wear their own team's helmet, but teams will now wear orange and white or volt yellow and gray.
Nike has created the new uniforms and there is a clear evidence of the University of Oregon Ducks in them.
Not only are the new Pro Bowl uniforms going to be totally different in color than the old style, but there will be an interesting addition to them as well. Uniforms will include Pro Bowl achievement stars on the nameplates. This is similar to what Adidas put on the warm-up jackets worn by NBA players at the All-Star Game.
There had been a lot of discussion about the league doing away with the game because of lack of effort and competition. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has said that this could be the last game if changes aren't made.
The next Pro Bowl game will be played in Aloha Stadium in Honolulu on Jan. 26, 2014.
