Fantastic Fest unveiled their second wave of film programming August, 27, 2014.
Keanu Reeves is the star of "John Wick" and will be at Fantastic Fest for the action thriller's premiere, alongside directors David Leitch and Chad Stahelski.
Other films announced include titles like zombie sequel "Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead", Indian gangster film "As Seen By The Rest", and "Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Films", a documentary on exploitation producers Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus.
Other events of note include the Fantastic Debates, in which film industry figureheads will spar off both verbally and physically. Matt Mason, Chief Content Officer for BitTorrent, Inc. is a lead challenger this year. He'll take his debate on whether file sharing is a creative tool or content thievery from podium to boxing ring. He's already filmed a challenge on YouTube.
"This is the first Fantastic Debate in which we have a debater / fighter issuing an open challenge to anyone willing to step into the ring. It's a bold move and one I'm happy not to take on: Matt Mason can fight," noted Tim League, CEO and founder of Alamo Drafthouse & Fantastic Fest. "On the film front, we're really excited to bring Keanu back and welcome Dan Gilroy to Fantastic Fest for the first time with his stunning directorial debut."
Fantastic Fest will be hosted at the newly reopened Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar location, which boasts a lavish makeover of both the cinema and the accompanying restaurant/karaoke bar, The Highball.
The festival runs September 18-25. You can keep track of the full events listing and information on badge purchasing via the official Fantastic Fest website.
