On the night of 22 March, 2009; The MogollonMonster.com Research team decided to return to the area where they heard the voices in the bushes the day before. However, they wanted to do it at night. They outfitted themselves with night vision and backup flashlights. The members were Clay Randall, Shannon Waite, Sterling Waite, Jerry Waite, and Ryan Cauldwell.
They departed the trail head at approximately 9:30pm. Their journey would encompass a trip into the bog to where they heard the voices, and eventually wind their way back around to the trailhead. Mitch Waite monitored their progress from the trail head.
At first, the trip was uneventful. However, as soon as they crossed the bog to the area of voices, something huge, but unseen, started crashing through the trees away from them. Shannon’s words of surprise could be heard on the video, “Oh My!”, and again but louder, “Oh My!” Bolstering themselves with the assurance the creature was an elk, they hurried back to the trail head
Mitch stated he could see the flashlights bobbing through the trees in all directions and the group came down the hill towards him. “They were definitely in a hurry to get off the hill.”
Back at the trail head, the group reported what they and seen and heard. Shannon reported there was something following behind them before they had reached the bog. They got off trail and found some scat which matched the other samples found on previous expeditions. They elected not to bag the scat, but to keep moving through the meadow back to the vehicles.
The researchers had stirred up something, and it followed them back to camp. They began to hear Chimp like noises coming towards their camp. For the next three hours, the creatures stayed on the hill above the campsite and vocalized displeasure at the researchers. Sometimes, the researcher could hear the vocalizations all around them meaning more than one creature had joined the scolding. The whole vocalization event was recorded. The researchers experienced a very nervous and sleepless night.
No one saw a Bigfoot that night, but they were certain something was out there, and it wasn’t an elk, bear or deer. Something was unhappy at them for disturbing the tranquility of the meadow at night--Something big enough to crash through trees as if they were blades of grass--Something that followed them back to camp and scolded them for over three hours.
