Nicole Sullivan says celebs lie about baby weight loss

Getting to know their newborn and adjusting to life after pregnancy is a wondrous time for most women. Most women struggle for a time after giving birth, not just with late night feedings and learning to be a mom, but also with the changes in their bodies. Reading article after article about celebs who dropped their baby weight as if it was easy as pie can be disheartening to say the least. Nicole Sullivan can relate to the baby weight struggle however, and says most celebs are “lying” about their weight loss (US Weekly, Jan 24)

The star joins the likes of Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Hudson in singing the praises of Jenny Craig and credits the program for helping her get her body back. The Jenny Craig Brand Ambassador told her story at the The Real Women of Jenny Craig". The weight loss didn't happen right away and she went through a period of being mad at the world. Sullivan says she often felt like an outcast in the Hollywood community: "There just are not a lot of overweight people in Hollywood. I felt like the jerk who couldn't figure it out."

The “Madtv” and “Cougars” she felt “broken” after giving birth to her son Dashel five years ago. “"I would flip through celeb magazines…and I just couldn't get how these moms like Jessica Alba lost so much weight so quickly—and yet I couldn't.” She goes on to say that "They all lie and say, 'Oh, I lost the weight running after the kids or breastfeeding.' It's not true!. The mom says she was so unhappy after having her son and that she was so focused on why she couldn't look the way she wanted that she missed out on enjoying the time with her new baby. By the time Sullivan had her second son, 3-year-old Beckett, she had it figured out. “I may not look like [Alba], but at least I can keep up with other actresses now. I feel really good about myself."
