The final round of Dancing With the Stars aired last night, and Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough gave it their all with two high energy routines. Carrie Ann Inaba was their mentor and advised the pair, “Try to get into the emotional quality of the dance." Wanting to follow Carrie Ann’s advice, Nicole replied, “Tonight I’m going to let go and forget about the dance.” Was she able to overcome her nerves and stay on top of the leaderboard?
Redemption Dance Round:
Nicole Scherzinger has scored the most points to date from any season of Dancing With the Stars. For her redemption dance, she was tasked to perform the Rumba. The first time she did this dance, her nerves got the best of her. Was Nicole able to hit it out of the ballpark this time?
- Len Goodman: “I loved the subtlety of the choreography.” However, he wondered about Nicole’s confidence level. Score: 9.
- Bruno Tonioli: “It had sensuality, romance, extreme beauty. This was superlative!” Score: 10.
- Carrie Ann Inaba: “That was mesmerizing. I couldn’t take my eyes off it, including the lift at the end.” Score: 9.
Total judges’ score for redemption dance: 28.
Freestyle Dance Round:
For their freestyle dance, choreographer Derek Hough pulled out all the stops, including some moves he has never performed. The routine seemed positively perfect until the last few seconds when the pair flubbed a lift at the very end.
- Len Goodman: “I saw every dance there. I saw a fantastic freestyle!” Score: 9.
- Bruno Tonioli: “That was dazzling creativity. You pushed the bar so high. It’s incredible what you’ve done. Amazing!” Score: 9.
- Carrie Ann Inaba: “That’s the freestyle we’ve all been waiting for!” Score: 9.
Total judges’ score for freestyle dance: 27.

- Erin Andrews and Maksim Chrmekovskiy: 29 + 26 = 55
- Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough: 28 + 27 = 55
- Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya: 24 + 28 = 52
