Nicole Powell scores 23 but Monarchs lose

Former Stanford standout Nicole Powell put up a lot of impressive numbers Friday night, but she could not prevent the Sacramento Monarchs from losing to the Atlanta Dream 98-90 in Sacramento in a WNBA game.

Powell did a little bit of everything, scoring 23 points while collecting four rebounds, four assists and four steals.

She did most of her damage in the first half when she had 17 points.   Less than four minutes into the third quarter Powell had 20 points and Sacramento had a two-point lead.  But Powell went 1-for-8 from the field the rest of the game.
