Nicole Kidman was knocked down Thursday evening on a New York City sidewalk by a reckless bicyclist, who may have been trying to snap her picture as she headed to a Calvin Klein fashion event. The actress says, “I'm up, I'm walking around, but I was shaken,” reports CBS News on Friday, Sept. 13.
The incident served as a pre-Friday the 13th surprise for Kidman, who was doing a red carpet appearance to publicize the Francisco Costa 10th anniversary celebration of his tenure as the women's creative director of the Calvin Klein Collection. Luck was running bad for the rider of the bicycle, too. He was served with three citations for reckless endangerment, riding on the sidewalk, and failing to wear a helmet. Or perhaps it was Nicole Kidman, rudely knocked down, who needed the helmet, since she was the one on the ground.
The unnamed rider was listed as 19 years of age. Some reports said he was a paparazzo. If so, he needs a bit more training before he is ready to call celebrity photography a career. Run-ins with the law and leaving behind grounds for a lawsuit are not the way to get started.
Meanwhile, it’s always the day after when those bumps and bruises really kick in. Nicole Kidman is no doubt feeling more in the mood to sue.
