Nicole Kidman admits to Oprah she feels exposed

Actress Nicole Kidman and the cast of the upcoming film “Nine” appeared on The Oprah show today.

Oprah : “I know you have already done a musical (Moulin Rouge) so how is this one different?

Kidman : "I think this was more of a story of a man, where “Moulin Rouge” was more of a burlesque film."

The actress says she had just given birth to daughter with husband and country singer Keith Urban when she took on the role. She started filming when daughter, Sunday Rose was only six weeks old. On being a new again Mom at age 42 , “I think so much of my burning ambition has kind of faded ”, said Kidman.

Does she like to see herself on screen? Kidman has watched herself onscreen, but admits she is not a singer and hates to hear herself sing.

Said Kidman:  "I'm not a singer. When I act, I mean I know there are limitations to my ability but I can basically go in there and I can interpret something, whereas, when I sing, I can't hit the notes I wanna hit always, and I can't express myself exactly the way I want to, so that can be frustrating.I would have loved to have been able to sing that song in a very, very high soprano voice, but I just don't have that voice... and so I feel my limitations when I sing and I feel exposed."

On the subject of balancing her work and relationship with husband Keith Urban she says they have reduced their time apart to only 3 days a week maximum. The couple live in Nashville which Nicole says is such a nice normal place to live.
