Nicky started knitting at a young age, completing her first sweater at age 14. In 1979, while working as an art director, she entered a McCall's Needlework design contest and won. Since that time, Ms. Epstein has written many books and won several awards from the fiber industry. In 2005, she was given a prestigious award by The National NeedleArts Association (TNNA). In 2006, her work was featured in a retrospective fashion show at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City.
