Nicki Minaj upset that 'American Idol' is promoting Mariah feud

Nicki Minaj took to her Twitter account early Friday morning to lament "American Idol's" decision to tease the feud between she and co-judge, Mariah Carey.

The tweet drummed up massive support from her fans, who also criticized "American Idol's" reported exploit between the two dueling divas.

Minaj tweeted:

"Is Idol really gonna play themselves and show that shit? Smdh. Wow". (SMDH is Internet slang for "shaking my d**n head".)

Minaj was referring to Thursday nights show which highlighted the argument between Minaj and Carey back in September. Minaj had reportedly called Carey "her (expletive) Highness" and Carey responded through various media sources, claiming she was hiring extra security because she was afraid of Minaj. The pair's highly publicized disagreements have made it clear that the two women don't get along.

The host of "American Idol", Ryan Seacrest, confirmed that the feud between Minaj and Carey was real, thwarting off accusations that the animosity was made up for ratings. Ryan said the conflict began before the cameras even started to roll. Seacrest was heard on the "Today" show recently, saying, "There was a bit of difference in opinion between Nicki and Mariah on the elevator ride up to our first day of shooting".

Seacrest went on to say, "Yes, it is. It's not manufactured. These are two very, very spirited, strong individual performers who've had a lot of success that aren't shy about their opinion regardless of what they may be about".

And now Minaj is seemingly just tired of the drama and wants to move on.

Some of her fans responded to the annoyed Minaj early this morning, with one fan saying, "Idol uses a stupid fight for ratings". Another fan said, "I think they shouldn't have showed that it makes it seem more like a reality show on oxygen".

"American Idol" season 12 premiere continues Friday at 8 P.M. EST on Fox.
