Lil Mama was on the red carpet of the MTV Awards. Nicki Minaj was on stage of the MTV Movie Awards. However, if you were watching the show on Sunday night you might have gotten the two confused because both rappers were dressed very closely alike.
Showing up on the red carpet, Lil Mama dressed like Nicki Minaj. Wearing clothes like Nicki in previous events, it no doubt was Nicki's style. Even Lil Mama’s pose was all about Minaj. Those in the press line easily thought Lil Mama was Nicki Minaj and had to be corrected from the assumption.
On stage, Nicki Minaj looked like Nicki Minaj. Showing off her cleavage and sharing her eyes, just like she always does on stage and what fans came to expect. However, for some of the audience it was confusing as people wondered if she had changed (since they too saw Lil Mama in white.)
The fashion of Nicki Minaj is definitely one-of-a-kind, but tonight in Los Angeles Lil Mama almost had the fans fooled. Which is strange as Lil Mama doesn’t necessarily want to be recognized as Nicki Minaj and has never taken to a red carpet looking like her before.
