Nicki Minaj has a new obsession on "American Idol" and that is contestant Charlie Askew. Minaj really enjoyed his performance Thursday night, telling him that he had become an artist.
"Charlie. I am obsessed with you. Let me tell you something Charlie. Today you
became an artist in my eyes. You have this quirky thing that is so odd, that it's right," said an impressed Minaj.
Askew had performed a rendition of "Somebody I Used To Know," which he began with a story that made the song more relatable and apt for the competition.
Happy with Minaj's take on his performance, Askew said "I glorify weirdness."
Taking a look at Charlie from head to toe, Minaj told him that he should never change because this is what artistry is truly about.
"That is an artist. You are so special," said Minaj. "Don't change. Please stay like that. Wear your over-sized suit. Be you babe. I love you. Alright. Go off now darling."
