The new season of American Idol premieres Jan. 16, 2013. You have to wonder if there will be more drama between Idol judges, Mariah Carey, and Nicki Minaj?
The show underwent a slew of celebrity judge changes, over the past years. Randy Jackson is the only remaining judge from the original panel, which included Simon Cowell, and Paula Abdul.
Jan. 4, MTV News, Carey and Minaj, talk about their incident to the Hollywood Reporter. Carey stated, "sometimes things get heated for their own reasons," Carey tells The Hollywood Reporter about the feud that erupted on the set during auditions in North Carolina. "I don't think the panel has an issue."
Minaj didn't directly address the altercation in the cover story, she did note that when pushed "I am scary and intimidating. I definitely demand respect."
Minaj and Carrey were involved in a verbal shouting match, which quickly escalated to Minaj making violent threats against Carey, while caught on tape. The celebs used profane language in trading vicious, and degrading insults. The tape was obtained by TMZ.
