What better way to settle a feud than over some porn? That's reportedly how Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj made peace, according to statements the pair made on Tuesday during the 2013 Winter TCA tour in Pasadena, Calif.
Carey said simply that:
Time heals all wounds.
Minaj reportedly had a blank look on her face for much of the event, but jokingly added,
And we watched my [sex] tape. We're professionals. Have you ever had an argument with someone you work with?
Minaj alluding to her purported sex video, one that has been rumored for several years. A quick search of the Internet, in fact, brings up a lot of links that point to what the sites say is a Minaj sex tape, as a way to get traffic.
Each of the two seemed to go out of her way to gush over the other. Carey said,
It [their collaboration on 'Up Out My Face'] was one of my favorite songs. And I did feel like she was going to go very far and still have that feeling.
Minaj, for her part, said:
She's one of my favorite artists of all times. She's really shaped a generation of singers. To be on a panel with her, it's kind of crazy ... All the singers come in aspiring to be Mariah, in terms of talent and in terms of career length.
All the adulation was interesting, since during Carey's ABC News interview with Barbara Walters, she said she felt verbally threatened by Minaj; Carey confirmed she had beefed up security as a result. She also said she didn't know Minaj sang, but that she thought Minaj "rapped -- or whatever."
Season 12 of "American Idol" premieres on Jan. 16.
