Some Nicki Minaj confusion appears to have taken place with fans believing she had plastic surgery on her face. However, the "Idol" judge and rapper came forward to clear up the rumors on Thursday night during a new interview.
Website The Inquisitr reported on Feb. 28 that Minaj has in fact denied she ever had such surgery. Instead, she said the different look of her face was due to makeup, not the effective work of a plastic surgeon.
Minaj said during the interview:
"I never had surgery on my face. When people see my makeup they think all types of crazy things that I’m doing to my skin, but it’s makeup."
"They'll see contour and think you've had surgery on your nose. It's makeup people."
Nicki even brought up the reality show "RuPaul's Drag Race" as one example of just how effective the use of makeup can be in altering the look of someone's face. She noted, "you'll see how you can make your nose look any shape you want."
While Minaj has denied plastic surgery for her face, she hasn't denied she had work done in other areas, mainly the prominent booty she's known for showing off. She also added that she's had to refine her style quite a bit recently to be "more grown and sexy and like…less is more." Minaj has been known for her flamboyant costumes worn during appearances whether they are music videos, concerts or interviews.
Hip hop star and pop musician, Nicki Minaj, currently appears as a judge on the new season of "American Idol" on FOX. Roanoke viewers are able to watch the show weekly on local FOX affiliate station WFXR 8 on Cox Cable.
