Nicki Minaj is not only showing off her assets in the new "Anaconda" music video, she's also breaking records. Nicki's new song uses a sample of Sir Mix-a-Lot's "Baby Got Back" and there is definitely a lot of "back" in the video. Maybe that's why Nicki Minaj set the record for most VEVO views in one day with a whopping 19.6 million according to Billboard on Friday.
The previous record for VEVO views in one day was held by Miley Cyrus and the music video for "Wrecking Ball." That chart topper was viewed 19.3 million times in one day so Nicki just barely edged the party girl out.
Nicki Minaj just released the music video for "Anaconda" on Tuesday and the total views sit at an astounding 37 million. That doesn't necessarily mean one should run out and watch it if they haven't seen it yet. Viewer beware, the video is extremely explicit.
The music video for "Anaconda" features Nicki Minaj and a group of dancers scantily clad and definitely showing off their backsides as she raps around the sample of "Baby Got Back." If ever there was a music video that is not safe for work, this is the one.
As Nicki and her dancers shake it to the infamous line "My anaconda don't want none unless you got buns hun" over and over. It is a catchy tune, it's just pushing the envelope in terms of sexuality and showing tons of skin. The lyrics aren't much better either. The radio edit will be interesting.
Sir Mix-a-Lot even weighed in via Twitter with his opinion of the risque video and let's just say he must like it. At least 37 of the record breaking views were his if he is to be believed.
