On Jan. 17, 2013, ‘American Idol’ lived up to the claims of crazy cattiness made by Ryan Seacrest on ‘The Today Show.’ Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey simply cannot agree on anything except for the fact that really hot guys in Chicago should be able to make it to Hollywood regardless of their singing ability. Nicki Minaj wanted to make sure that the world knows that she does not discriminate when it comes to dating any man that she thinks is attractive. Every young, attractive man that walked through the door was asked if he had a girlfriend as Minaj ogled him.
Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj were not able to keep their newfound bond for long. They began bickering and speaking poorly to one another within a few minutes. The two never sit beside one another because it seems as though they would not be able to control themselves, if a real disagreement broke out between them. The constant arguing between the two is definitely overpowering the show and taking away from the contestants.
There were quite a few great auditions during the night according to E!Online. There was a young man whose parents had never heard him sing. He had a beautiful voice that had a rich tone and a lot of power. A new rocker has also joined the scene and gotten the nickname of ‘Curly’ by Minaj.
One woman got to meet her idol, Mariah Carey. After the woman left the room, Nicki Minaj actually gave Carey a compliment, asking Randy if he knows what it is like to meet Mariah Carey for the first time. She seemed as though she genuinely enjoyed meeting Carey for the first time and that she seemed to respect her. Carey thanked her for the compliment and again the two seemed to get along for a few moments. It seems as though the 12th season of ‘American Idol’ will be filled with drama and fun. ‘American Idol’ airs again on Jan. 23, 2013.
