Nicki Minaj and Adam Levine have something in common. They're both working on a clothing line with Kmart. Fashion & Etc. reported the strange news on Jan. 9.
The two musicians reportedly will have a long-term relationship with the Sears Holdings brand. Their collaboration took effect on Monday, Jan. 7. They will collaborate with Kmart stores with their own collections.
Each musician will have their own collection of clothing and accessories. The collection will be sold at select Kmart locations and ShopYourWay.com. The clothing lines are expected to launch early this year.
Nicki will incorporate her outrageous and colorful sense of style into her designs. Adam's line will have a heavy rock and roll influence. The unusual pairing is hoping to draw young consumers to Kmart.
Imran Jooma, executive vice president and president of marketing was excited to share the news today. He released a statement, saying:
"We are thrilled to align Kmart and SHOP YOUR WAY with two of America's superstars. We welcome Adam and Nicki into our world and look forward to capturing their energy and creativity on ShopYourWay.com and translating it into unique apparel, accessories and other merchandise."
Nicki Minaj and Adam Levine do have something else in common. They're both judges on music competition shows. Nicki is one of the new judges on "American Idol." Adam Levine is a judge and coach for NBC's "The Voice."
