Nickelback fans teething at the bit to hear the band's new single "Edge of a Revolution" can whet their appetite with a newly posted teaser clip. The multi-Platinum selling Canuck rockers announced last week they will release the song to digital retailers on Aug. 19.
In an update posted Aug. 18 to the band's official website at Nickelback.com, the multi-Juno winners have posted a 16-second teaser audio clip of the song along with the caption, "A Revolution is coming Tuesday, Aug. 19." The clip provides the instrumental intro segment of the song, revealing a mid-temp rocker, propelled by a powerful riff-driven lead guitar and bass line underscored by Daniel Adair's rock solid drumming. The song is scheduled to premiere Aug. 18 at iHeartRadio.
The "How You Remind Me" hitmakers posted a photo to their Facebook page last of a film reel marked "Revolution," with the caption say, "two videos in two days...that's a wrap." The Hanna, Alberta natives also tweeted five teaser updates, which included shots of guitarist Ryan Peake and drummer Daniel Adair working on the video, a shot of what might be the cover, clues about director identity (Wayne Isham), as well as release date information.
Hashtags used in the updates indicated the videos shot were for the songs "Edge of a Revolution" and "What are you Waiting for?" A black and white photo of a raised flag bearing the "Revolution" song title, had a accompanying caption, saying " "Hitting airwaves and iTunes next week. #EdgeOfARevolution."
Universal Music Canada CEO Randy Lennox recently confirmed Nickelback have left their former U.S. label Roadrunner and will release the as-yet-untitled 8th studio album this fall on Republic Records, a division of Universal Music Group. Lennox also confirmed the Hanna, Alberta natives have "an extensive tour planned" in 2015. Last month, Nickelback hinted at a tour plans, posting pictures of an inception document, bearing the title "Nickleback Tour 2015," accompanied by a teaser caption, which said, "Busy day of meetings... Top Secret!"
Did you know? In a June radio interview, Nickelback front Chad Kroger Kroeger told Vancouver's CFOX-FM that the band's new studio album may be titled "No Fixed Address."
