Last year, Jeanette McCurdy, Nathan Kress and Ariana Grande visited St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® with the entire casts of both shows to provide a special sneak peak of their Nickelodeon shows and throw a party for St. Jude patients and their family members. Now, the trio is helping engage teachers, students and parents in the St. Jude Math-A-Thon program while at the same time raising awareness for St. Jude’s lifesaving mission of finding cures for children battling cancer and other deadly diseases.
These three young stars will be serving as the spokespeople for the St. Jude Math-A-Thon program and are also helping launch a new sweepstakes that will give two lucky students the opportunity to visit the Los Angeles set for a taping of a Nickelodeon show.
The sweepstakes includes all participants in last fall’s semester as well as this spring. Schools who raise at least $1,000 for St. Jude through the Math-A-Thon program will be entered in the St. Jude Math-A-Thon/Nickelodeon Sweepstakes. On April 30, 2012, one lucky student from each of two winning schools will be selected for an all-expense paid trip to California to visit Nickelodeon Studios and see a live taping of a Nickelodeon show. The show will be determined based on who is in production at the time of the trip.
“The St. Jude Math-A-Thon program is a fun way for kids and teachers to work on their math skills,” said Kress. “Not only will they be helping other kids battling cancer at St. Jude but through the sweepstakes this year they might get the chance to come out for a taping of a Nickelodeon show!”
