On Tuesday, the reports of Nick Saban to Texas won’t let up. According to Fansided.com via Fort Worth Star-Telegram, a source close to the “Texas executive council of regents expects Nick Saban to become the new head coach of Texas.”
As Fansided.com as noted, the rumors have been plentiful over the last week, but the reported departure of Mack Brown increases the intensity of each rumor. Mack Brown is expected to step down by the end of the week, yet the uncertainty of each situation continues to amaze.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that Nick Saban and Alabama were working on a new $7 million deal, but the negotiations could be to drive the price up.
When Gus Malzahn agreed to a new deal last week, there wasn’t a real uproar about his ongoing negotiations. It seems that Nick Saban has been playing his availability through the media. It’s serving a purpose and making many Alabama fans nervous.
ESPN's Brett McMurphy said that Nick Saban has had a contract on his desk since Friday.
While Mack Brown is on the road recruiting, he stated that he has not decided to retire from Texas, according to ESPN. The Texas football banquet is scheduled for Friday, and that may be his last day on the job. Brown is expected to be honored at the event.
